The Moviejerk is run by one person only, so I’m afraid you’ll have to put up with me.

If you happen to disagree with my critical stance, you’re very welcome to rant and rave about in in my Facebook or Twitter, and we’ll partake into a glorious exchange of theories like normal adults. But it you become bitchy about it – less constructive criticism and more antagonistic drivel – I’d prefer you to fuck off. My views here are completely subjective, and I don’t pretend to have the last word. ‘Fuck that objectivity bullshit,’ as one Martha Gellhorn would have reprimanded us all.

Meanwhile, if you do have something nice to say, I’d be most delighted to hear it. Nothing beats genuine, enthusiastic film chatter in my books.

For all your queries, questions and confusions – I’ll do my best to answer them without sounding like a tit.

I also welcome contributors to the site. If you happen to like the look and dig my style, feel free to get in touch – provided that snarky yet honest film criticism is your cup of tea (and that you can write something along the vein). Send through one or two of your finest, wonderfully withering film scribbles and we’ll sort something out.

Here’s the email:

Write wisely.

  1. To whom important.

Hello this is Garriell Boyd. I am from the U.S. and I am a newly found actor, whom is looking for his big break in a movie, or tv show. I got your contact information because you now follow me on twitter. I would love to here about some films that you are currently working on, where you could use someone like me. I’m looking forward to talking to you.

    1. Hi Garriell,

      Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, we are not running a casting agency. We’re a film site, publishing film reviews.

We wish you all the best with your endeavours.

  2. Hello Movie Jerk. I stumbled on your website while searching movie images on google, and have to say it’s a very well written and beautifully designed website. I’m also trying my hand at it, although I don’t share your talent in writing. I know how much it means to have some good feedback. Keep up the good work.

I did wonder, whether I could also use some of your reviews on our website. I would obviously set up a link to your site and make it clear the review is yours. If not, don’t worry at all. Just a thought.

Am loving you Cannes Chronicles. Excellent. You must be loving it!!

    1. Hi Josh. First of all, thank you for taking the time for browsing the site and making a great comment! I am humbled with your words. It means a lot when a fellow film writer appreciate what you do.

Please feel free to use any of The Moviejerk’s review on your site, provided they’re authored and back-linked. As for feedback, I shall happily send you a full email containing my thoughts.

And thanks for following the Cannes coverage. It’s been an incredible journey, you should experience it someday!

      All the best,

      The Moviejerk.
