I don’t know about you, but I am terribly excited for Ridley Scott’s back-to-good-old-sci-fi project Prometheus that it’s almost embarrassing. Morning’s coffee was spilling from my mouth down to my keyboard without realising my jaw was agape far too long as I watched the full theatrical trailer unfolded on my screen. I got so yoked up that I played it again. And again. And then I raved about it to my colleagues, to friends, to my partner, my housemate, to people on the streets (okay, it didn’t really come to that).
The Prometheus team released not only one but two trailers (one for US, and another for UK). How the hell they spend money on trailer-making companies is beyond me, but the results are looking quite the spectacle. There hasn’t been a great sci-fi of recent years. Don’t even dare to count James Cameron’s Avatar, that blue Pocahontas shit don’t tantamount to a Kubrick or the Blade Runner-era Scott. Looks like Ridley is pulling out all the stops in this not-really-an-Alien-prequel Alien prequel.
I better stop blabbing now, and enjoy the full glory of these babies. It makes you stop and think that film trailers can be as artfully done as these.

Thought I’d like to add Noomi Rapace’s screaming face here as well, to add up to the sense of mounting dread. If something is scaring the hell of out the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, then I’m afraid we – common folks – would stand no chance.
